Located in the Great Lakes Technology Park adjacent to the Entrepreneurship Innovation Center and the Lorain County Community College campus, the new SMART Commercialization Center is meant to complement the GLIDE Incubator Initiative, and to extend its reach into a niche market by assisting in economic development, the growth of companies, the growth of jobs, and the growth of talent to serve new technology business. The goal of the College is to assist companies during the sensor commercialization phase by providing testing labs and clean rooms they would not otherwise have access to in the Midwest. It is intended that the new facility will be an environment which encourages synergies among the businesses it houses. Tenants are expected to be at different stages in their commercialization processes. There is no other lab in the Midwest that has this unique set of tools in one place.
